Interview with Holly Burger on Connect With Spirit

May 2009

How long have you been doing Connect With Spirit?

‘Connect With Spirit’ (CWS)was born in 2004. I was guided to offer an easily accessible, ongoing class for other Lightworkers in 2004. In 2005 I began in Loveland, then expanded to Berthoud. The class was open but it was mostly clients and referrals. I consider Berthoud to be the ‘growth’ place and have great appreciation for the men and women that helped solidify the teachings connected with CWS. We eventually moved to Longmont and I started advertising a bit. The evolution continues. I am now in Denver at The Creative Living Center once per month starting the original 12 classes. It’s a great journey and I learn each time.

What do you offer at Connect With Spirit?

There are always variations. I meditate and ask for the appropriate subject. Then type about 1 page of information concerning that subject. That information is shared and discussed for the first hour. The second hour I relax into a meditative state and allow spiritual guidance to speak through me while individuals ask questions. It’s a team effort.

Who comes to your classes?

Anyone that feels the call. The initial 12 classes are in a type of order, but the beauty of spirituality is we can choose exactly what we learn and when. My guides have said ‘there is no structure in spirituality, only service’. You can go to kindergarten first or 11th grade or college. There is no judgment, just possibility. I love to tell people about these classes, but I don’t usually say things like ‘you will learn’ or ‘you need/have to come’. When someone feels the call, I trust that. It’s about the connection and the collaboration. 'Where two or more are gathered,' right?

What has changed since you began?

Well, me for one. In my journey of personal evolution I feel like a better channel. The information coming from Spirit can seem obscure at time. When we hear something of a high vibration we may have difficulty remembering it. Also, my spiritual growth has helped me to release ego and any worry I might have about the message.

What’s your favorite thing about CWS?

Can I choose more than one thing? First, the humor. People are healing and releasing and still we laugh. Sometimes I find it hard to hold the channel because I get involved and want to laugh. After that it’s the metaphors. Clients often comment on the ease of understanding because of the imagery offered. And, as always, the phenomenal people that grace each class. I love to hear the success stories. People release blocks and they just launch, love that!

What would you consider is a difficulty in offering the CWS class?

One in particular. It’s my ego.  My guides tell me that our bodies (mental, emotional, physical and spiritual) should be in balance. So I have to say: I love my ego, just balance will ya!   After the class I am always asking people how they feel. Driving home after a spiritual class is something I have to be grounded for, so I make sure everyone is ready to operate a vehicle. These classes should come with a sticker, ‘don’t operate heavy machinery after CWS.’ Even though I feel confident, open and free I still experience self doubt. That’s my struggle and now it’s in print.
